Owls Add Two from Gardner-Webb
The Forest City Owls have signed a pair of local products to play in the team’s inaugural season. Josh Drewery and Adam Bullard come to the Owls from across the county line where both star at Gardner-Webb University. The pair look to provide solid performances on the mound as well as in the field for the Owls this summer.

Drewery has had a standout career for Gardner-Webb and brings championship experience to Forest City. The 6’1”, 180 pound junior is a Lawndale, North Carolina native has seen significant time during his collegiate career at both shortstop and as a member of the starting rotation for the Bulldogs. During the early stages of the 2008 season Drewrey is off to a hot start from both positions, posting a .400 batting average through eight games while earning a win in his only appearance from the mound. During the 2007 summer season Drewrey was an important part of the Vermont Mountaineers run to a second consecutive New England Collegiate Baseball League Championship.

Adam Bullard has also adds a strong start to the collegiate season from the mound. The 6’4”, 215 pound junior from Greenville, South Carolina has picked up a win in three appearances for the Bulldogs with a 3.27 ERA while holding opponents to a paltry .220 batting average and striking out seven men. On February 24 of this year, Bullard pitched two strong innings of relief that help to secure the 500th career victory for Gardner-Webb skipper Rusty Stroupe.

During the 2007 summer season, Bullard garnered a 3-2 record in 17 appearances for the Spartanburg Stingers, striking out 24 batters while posting a 4.80 ERA during those outings. As a member of the Spartanburg Methodist Pioneers, Bullard helped the team post a third
place finish at the 2007 JUCO World Series with a 1-1 record during the tournament

The Forest City Owls are a member of the Coastal Plain League. Entering its 12th season, the CPL has 14 teams in the Virginias and Carolinas.
