Forest City Owls – Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing to help provide the marketing department with focus in the areas of project management, client communication and promotions from May to August 2019. He/she will also gain valuable training on how to most effectively build a brand and how to effectively research and implement specific marketing strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help with projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Marketing and Social Media

  • Assist in the creation and editing of game day scripts and promotions

  • Organize marketing content on all platforms including marquee boards, posters and social media

  • Coordinate and execute player and mascot appearances

  • Take pictures at various games and events

  • Ensure that the correct advertisements and promotions are being executed

  • Interact with fans and securing participants for pre-, in- and post-game promotions

  • Make sales calls to groups and individuals

  • Operate and manage various social media platforms

  • Maintain a specified number of office hours

Requirements

  • Must have completed or be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Sports Management, Marketing, Business or a related field from an accredited college or university

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly, concisely and on time

  • Possess effective research skills in order to assist in project development

  • Adapts to change in the work environment and appropriately manages competing demands

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage his/her own individual projects

  • An outgoing personality and a professional demeanor

 

Forest City Owls – Social Media Intern

The Social Media Intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing to assist with the composition and posting of various social media promotions from May to August 2019. He/she will also gain valuable training on how to most effectively build a brand and how to effectively research and implement specific marketing strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help with projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Marketing

  • Compose and post online content on the Owls’ website and social media accounts

  • Update social media with game day and play-by-play information

  • Assist in the creation and editing of game day scripts and promotions

  • Organize marketing content on all platforms including marquee boards, posters and social media

  • Take pictures at various games and events

  • Ensure that the correct advertisements and promotions are being executed

  • Operate and manage various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

  • Understand marketing objectives and know how to design different marketing materials

  • Maintain a specified number of office hours

Requirements

  • Must have completed or be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Sports Management, Marketing, Business or a related field from an accredited college or university

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly, concisely and on time

Forest City Owls – Videography/Photography Intern

The Videography/Photography Intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing to take pictures and film videos of games, player appearances and various other events from May to August 2018. He/she will also gain valuable training on how to most effectively build a brand and how to effectively research and implement specific marketing strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help with projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Marketing and Social Media

  • Assist in directing, filming and editing game day footage, marketable videos, gifs, etc.

  • Take pictures at various games and events

  • Write scripts for pre- and post-game interviews, weekly “SportsCenter” videos and commercials

  • Coordinate with the marketing interns and ensure that the right sponsors are being promoted at the right time

  • Maintain a specified number of office hours

Requirements

  • Must have completed or be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Sports Management, Marketing, Business or a related field from an accredited college or university

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly, concisely and on time

  • Possess effective research skills in order to assist in project development

  • Must have his/her own video camera and various equipment (photography camera will be provided) and experience in editing software

Forest City Owls – Operations Intern

The Operations Intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the Director of Operations to help with daily team, stadium and game day operations from May to August 2018. He/she will also gain valuable training on different areas of game day management, including setting up specific areas for vendors and sponsors, checking inventory and staff management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help with projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Marketing and Director of Operations

  • Assist in the management of game day staff, including scheduling and giving directions

  • Set up sponsorship tables, the suite box, bounce houses, etc.

  • Check inventory, keeping accurate records and ordering of food, alcohol and merchandise

  • Re-stock various inventory and assist in the upkeep of the ballpark

  • Work with the marketing interns to create and implement game day scripts and promotions

  • Ensure that the stats are correct on the CPL website and send stat updates to the players’ college coaches on a weekly basis

  • Maintain a specified number of office hours

Forest City Owls – Box Office/Ticket Sales Intern

The Box Office/Ticket Sales Intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing and the Director of Operations to help with daily team, stadium and game day operations from May to August 2018. He/she will also gain valuable training on different areas of game day management, including setting up specific areas for vendors and sponsors, checking inventory and staff management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help with projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Marketing and Director of Operations

  • Assist in the marketing and sales of individual and group ticket packages

  • Coordinate group outings and group nights and prepare group packages

  • Perform ticket sales both in-person, over the phone and online

  • Set up the box office, including the ticket booth and nightly picnic area

  • Help with nightly suite closing, game day ticket sales and management of game day ticket staff

  • Assist with other pre-game and post-game duties.

  • Maintain a specified number of office hours

Requirements

    In charge of:  

  • Constant Communication with Top Tier Sponsors

 

  • Sponsor Suite Box Nights

 

  • Deliver Tickets

 

  • Weekly Conversations with Sponsors

 

  • Coordinate Major Events

 

  • Complete small marketing tasks

MC / ON Field Host

In charge of:

  • Execute ALLOn-Field Activities to include:

- On Field games 

- Introductions such as First Pitch person, National Anthem Singer, etc. 

  • Engage fans in grandstand in cheering, dancing, singing, trivia, chantsduring games

  • Assist Marketing intern with :

  • Writing game day scripts

  • Game Day Music

  • Player / Mascot Community Appearances

  • Recruit Fan participants

  • Fan Experience Questionnaire during games

  • Meet and Greet Fans at Front Gate

  • Assist Owls Players with autographs after the game

  • Supply markers, collect markers, crowd control

  • Sponsorship Calls

  • Coordinate with Sponsorship Liaison intern

  • Help cleanthe office

  • Help clean the ballpark after every home game

  • 2 Hoot Suit Community Mascot Appearances during the summer

  • General errands such as office supply shopping 

 

 Media Relations Broadcaster 

In charge of:

  • Play by Play broadcast

  • All Owls home games

  • All Owls away games  

  1. Travel on team bus

  2. Coordinate with opposing team for broadcast location at their stadium and your needs 

  • Coordinate Sponsorship advertising such as : “Tonight’s starting pitcher is brought to you by McCurry Deck xxxxxxxisJohn Smith” . To be advertised EVERY game broadcast 

  • Sponsor Commercials

  • Film live commercials for live streaming broadcast

  • Radio commercials for away game broadcast

 

  • Game Day Rosters & Stats

  • Continually update player roster & stats  ( Owlsand visiting team)

  • Print for home games to insert in Owls program

  • Responsible for Video Cameras & Equipment

  • Maintenance & storage

  • Broadcast Booth

  • Clean broadcast booth after each home game

  • All equipment to be removed and stored at the office

  • Press Release

  • Game ReCaparticle to be submitted to Daily Courier, Coastal Plain League and Owls Website immediately after each home game

  • Radio Show

  • WCAB JimBishop  

  • Early morning show(min. 5 times during summer )

  • Coordinate away game broadcasts to play on live radio
